The  May issue of Eesti Hääl includes reports from the ÜEKN (World Estonian Council) meeting, held recently in Tallinn and, more domestically the Annual General Meeting of the Bradford Estonian House. The interview this month is with Paul Ratnik, who runs the bar at the Bradford Club and looks after the facility.

Other articles this month include a report on the Baltic Symposium held at the School of East European and Slavonic Studies UCL, a review of Edward Lucas' latest book - "Deception - lies, spies and how Russia dupes the West" and a story of the journey of post-war exile from Estonia to the USA.

A visit to the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine by representatives of Estonian organisations in this country is also highlighted, as are the regular sport and cookery columns.

The children who attend the Estonian School in London have produced a collage of their work in readiness for Mother's Day (the Continental version on 13th May) and this is given prominence in the centre pages.

The conclusion to the interesting article by Peeter Umblia, who reflects upon the Estonian Association in Sweden and asks whether it matches up to the expectations and demands of new arrivals from Estonia, is printed on page 5 alongside an article by Jüri Estam on the way the Estonian media outside Estonia is viewed.

Happy reading

The next issue will be published on Wednesday 13th June in readiness for the Summer's Day celebrations in Leicester and Bradford.
