Saturday 15 June - Midsummer Barbeque at the Leicester Estonian House, 366 Fosse Road North, Leicester. LE3 5RS. Music provided by 'Peeter', accordionist from Muhumaa, Estonia.

Sunday 16 June – Remembrance Service commemorating the deportation of Estonians, Latvians and Lithuanians to Siberia in 1941. St. James’ Church, Piccadilly, London W1.

Saturday 22 June - Midsummer event at the Bradford Estonian Club. Estonian group "Kratt" will be providing musical entertainment as will "Safiir", a newly formed ladies singing group based in England. Great bonfire, dancing, barbeque! An enjoyable evening in store.

Sunday 23 June – Sunday Lunch at the London Estonian House, 18 Chepstow Villas W11 2RB organised by the Estonian Relief Committee. Good food, enjoyable company - come along with your friends. Please register beforehand with Ida Lemsalu 020 8893 3816 or email: piret @ blueyonder.co.uk

The forthcoming June issue of Eesti Hääl includes reports on the Jazz workshop and concert in London, Mother's Day in Bradford and the Jaanipidu in London at which the star attraction was Boris Lehtlaan. Elin Toona-Gottschalk writes about her new book "Into Exile" in which she recounts her life in Leeds and London after World War 2 before emigrating to the USA. There is  also other current news, sport and the monthly recipe.
